Can you really think your way to healing and health? Absolutely! Dr. John Demartini shares his insight on the power of thought to heal: “We’ve known in the healing arts of the placebo effect. A placebo is something that supposedly has no impact and no effect on the body, like a sugar pill. You tell the patient that this is just as effective, and what happens is the placebo sometimes has the same effect, if not greater than the medication.”
Essentially it is the patient’s ability to believe in the healing. When a patient believes, they are healed. So then why are so many people walking around full of aches, pains, diseases and imbalances? It’s simple – their thoughts.
“When you boil it all down, and start to look at the causes of disease and imbalance, you will find that they are all result of one thing, stress. All stress begins with one negative thought.”
One thought that went unchecked, that churned and developed into thought patterns, into concern, worry, anxiety, depression, fear; it turned into stress on the body.
We all know this intuitively to be true. But how do we stop those negative thoughts? The answer is simple. Yoga and mindfulness are the keys to the healing, restoration and vibrant health.
Yoga is not just wrangling your body into some crazy poses and breathing. Yoga is a process of personal healing. Yoga uses mindfulness tools to actively and consciously practice simple concepts like: kindness, truth, giving, moderation, non-attachment, purity, discipline, contentment, self-study and surrender. These tools are coupled with breath, movement, turning inward, focus, and meditation to provide some strong medicine for us all.
These tools of yoga change your pattern of thought. They change you from the inside out and there is nothing quite like it.
So, what are you waiting for? Quit making excuses and quit complaining. You have the power to heal yourself. Find a knowledgeable teacher, one that knows more than just yoga poses, and begin your practice in earnest. Just show up and begin, then embrace the concepts every day. You have the power to live a vibrant healthy life and it all begins with changing your thoughts.
Wishing You Peace and Blessings,
