Let’s look at this differently. This is not meant to discount or minimize any loss and struggle this virus has caused. Please know that. It is in the loss and through the struggle of attachment to life that we are being called as a world to unite.
One definition of a virus is: a piece of code which is capable of copying itself and typically has a detrimental effect, such as corrupting the system or destroying data. Maybe the system the coronavirus is corrupting is the illusion of separateness, the sad and fearful way we have been living our lives. What if the coronavirus is a blessing?
We have become a society of beings slowly disconnecting and isolating, disembodied beings floating around thinking and acting like we are separate. We are not separate. We are all part of the same source. And when we cut ourselves off, we dry up and lose our life force. We have been a culture, a world that worships work, money and status, on the go and moving all the time. We have forgotten the nature of our spirit, the essence of living, the importance of play, simplicity, and humility in stillness and presence.
What a gift to be forced to a place where all the craziness of life is being halted and calling us to come together as a human race. Love, collaboration, sharing and selfless service are being called upon to restore our life force. May these gifts guide us to true healing, and may we remember this when the crisis has passed. May we remember this always…
