Does your teacher trigger you? How about your mother, father, husband, wife, friend, neighbor or sibling? Emotional triggers are energetic communication. They are based on a sensation – feeling – emotion that is attached to our subtle body (spiritual consciousness). These are charged messages from your spiritual body fueling emotion to be unlocked, let out and set free. Charged responses have a kick to them. Some are pleasant and many are unpleasant. The unpleasant ones we tend to avoid, suppress, run from or worse yet, medicate. This further inhibits the blocked energy. Blocked energy is like a clogged dam or river bank. Eventually it’s going to overflow, burst or find a different avenue for release.
This is where yoga comes in. And, I am not just talking about poses, breath and meditation. Although these are extremely important and necessary, I’m talking about self-study, realization, mindfulness-based practices, energy therapy and bioenergetics (which are physical, mental and spiritual releasing exercises) grounded in time-tested wisdom. Yoga and all that it offers is a way of life. It is a yoking, a uniting of the physical self with our divine, holy nature.
So quit avoiding, suppressing and medicating your triggers. Your triggers – your trigger people were put in your life to help you move through that blocked energy into your Divine Self.
