Doshas are like your Disc Operating System in human anatomy, and they are influenced by the season of your life, the seasons of nature and the 24 hour clock. Ayurveda’s primary focus is on food, herbal treatments and daily self-care rituals to maintain balance, keep you in the present moment and enjoy the best version of Self.
Yoga is a spiritual practice that also works through the layers of your being. Yoga serves many purposes with the ultimate intention of becoming one with Divine Consciousness, and fulfilling our Dharma (Life’s Purpose) through love and selfless service. Physical balance is definitely a piece of yoga, but the deeper work focuses on energetic discharging and charging practices that release us from human suffering, however great or small. These practices deal with the universal qualities of the mind, thought loops of Avidya (false perception grounded in ego, fear, attachment and aversion) and blocked energy / chakras (caused by samskaras and vasanas) that keep us from relationship with God / The Universal Divine.
